Campus Master Plan Update Home / About

What is a Campus Master Plan?

The Campus Master Plan's purpose is to further the University's mission and document the physical environment's vision for the next ten years (and beyond). The Campus Master Plan document provides a framework for elements that fall within land use, open space, development, and circulation. Within this framework, the University will prepare and update capital outlay improvement and development plans for specifically identified projects within the plan.

In accordance with Section 1013.30 of the Florida Statutes, the plan will outline realistic and feasible strategies to anticipate and manage growth in enrollment and recommend solutions for the most efficient use of existing spaces, repurpose, and renovation needs. That will include an overall student-centered assessment outlining facilities needs themed around academic requirements, research, student life and activities, support, housing, parking, infrastructure, utilities, athletics, recreation, open space, and more. In addition to long-standing planning efforts that will continue to evolve the campus, the master plan will show logical progression and implementation that will help advance the University through the 21st century.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM Dr. MARTHA D. Saunders

Together, we will create a useful, realistic, and visionary road map for UWF that prioritizes future needs and defines a successful implementation process.

This microsite was developed for the Campus Master Plan, serving as a living document that tracks the project's life span. Ultimately, the microsite will serve as a one-stop site that charts the schedule and progress of the planning process while providing a platform of information for both the campus and the community. Additionally, the site will become a singular home to planning documents and progress updates once the planning process is completed.
